Phoenix Art Museum Presents Cameos: Sculpture in Miniature
Art lovers visiting Phoenix this spring will be delighted to hear that the Phoenix Art Museum has a unique exhibit running until April 17. Cameos are intricate, small-scale carvings, usually done on gemstones, coral, seashells, and crystals. These amazing works of art measure less than 3 inches a size, and the exhibit is showcasing more than 170 carvings from the 18th and 19th centuries.
One of the most fascinating aspects of these cameo carvings is that the artists commonly used a brilliant technique to add color and texture. Rather than painting them or adding other elements, they carved through the different layers of their medium to produce amazingly rich details on very small pieces. Any art lovers visiting the area in time for this wonderful exhibit should not miss this incredible show.

Cooking Light named the Uptown Farmers’ Market one of America’s 50 best markets of 2015, so it’s an absolute must-see for any foodies visiting Phoenix this spring, or anyone else interested in one of the best farmers’ markets in the country. Running from November through June 25 in northern Phoenix, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
With a mission to inspire local cooking talent and encourage local produce and handcrafted artisan goods and foods, the Uptown Farmers’ Market is a gathering place where you can find your groceries for an extended stay or the right local flavors for a wonderful weekend meal.
