Summer is quickly approaching and the school year is coming to a close. Before the bell rings on the last day of class, you can make your teachers feel special with a token of appreciation. Here are a few gift ideas of Teachers Appreciation Day.
Spring Chalkboard Pot - Idea from HGTV
You’ll need: pot, black chalkboard paint, yellow paint, chalk, flowers and soil
Paint a plant pot with black chalkboard paint. You can draw a ruler on top of the pot by using yellow paint and adding ruler markings. Then write a message in chalk and fill the pot with fresh flowers.
Bulletin Board – Idea from Martha Stewart
You’ll need: 3/4-inch-thick Homasote fiberboard, fabric, staple gun, D-rings, ribbon
Take a piece of Homasote fiberboard and cover it with fabric. Staple the fabric along the edges of the back of the board. Attach D-rings on the back of the board. Loop ribbon through the rings to hang the board.
Monogrammed Mug – Idea from Reader’s Digest
You’ll need: scissors, tape, pen or pencil, graphite transfer paper, porcelain pen, mug
Cut out your teacher’s initial and a piece of graphite transfer paper. Tape the paper on the mug and trace the initials with a pen or pencil. Take the porcelain pen and trace the initial lines. Let the mug sit for 24 hours and bake at 300 degrees for 35 minutes.
Stenciled Shopping Bag - Idea from Martha Stewart
You’ll need: piece of clip art, iron-on transfer paper, tote bag
Print a piece of clip art. Arrange the image on the bag, face up. (Keep in mind this is a mirror image of the final design). Cover with iron-on transfer paper. When you’re ready to iron, place the images face down and press the iron on it. Do not move the iron back and forth, or image will blur.
