How to Give Back on September 11

This year, honor the victims of September 11 by donating your time, funds, and skills to national nonprofit organizations.

This page provides information about the Corporation for National and Community Service, a federal agency that helps more than 5 million Americans improve the lives of their fellow citizens through service. Their programs include AmeriCorps, Senior Corps, Social Innovation Fund, and Volunteer Generation Fund.

This website will allow you to support the September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance. Launched in 2002 by the 9/11 nonprofit MyGoodDeed, this effort inspires charitable service on September 11. You can find local volunteer opportunities, register your own service project, and collaborate with other nonprofits.

Support the Betty Ong Foundation
On September 11, a flight attendant named Betty Ong notified the American Airlines ground crew of the hijacking situation on board the airplane. The Betty Ann Ong Foundation serves to educate children of the positive benefits of lifelong physical activity and healthy eating habits and to provide opportunities for children to lead healthier, happier lives.

Learn about the Michael Lynch Memorial Foundation
The mission of this foundation is to provide scholarships to enable children of firefighters and other victims of the September 11 attacks and other fires and disasters to afford higher education. The Michael Lynch Memorial Foundation was founded by the friends and family of Michael Francis Joseph Lynch, lost his life in the World Trade Center.
