Air Conditioner Filter Replacement
Learn how to change the air conditioner furnace unit filter in this Invitation Homes "Know Your Home" video.
Hi, I’m Shawna with Invitation Homes, and today, we’re going to talk about replacing the filters in your AC or furnace unit.
The way the airflow of the furnace works is the returned air moves through the filter into the supply air unit that blows the heated or cooled air into the home. In order to keep your AC or furnace unit running efficiently, you’ll need to replace the filter or filters on a regular basis. The exact location of your AC or furnace filter should have been covered during your move-in orientation. If not, contact Invitation Homes to find out.
First, turn your AC furnace system off. In this instance, the filter is located in the chamber between the returned air duct work and the supply air blower unit. Write down these measurements or take a picture of them to ensure you purchased the appropriately sized filter. Take the new filter and find the arrow on the edge. The arrow dictates the air flow. Make sure the air flow arrow is facing towards the AC or furnace unit so that the filter is working properly. Once you have your filter facing the right direction, slide it into the chamber and close the chamber door, then turn your system back on. It’s that easy.
