10 Days of Lease Friendly Tips: Stove Top Cider

Over here at Invitation Homes, we want to help you and your family make the most of this holiday season when hosting loved ones! This stove top cider recipe is not only an easy festive drink for your guests, but it will also fill your kitchen with a wonderful aroma of fruit and spices. No air freshener needed! This warm apple cider is sure to be a holiday hit.

Spiced Cider Ingredients:

4 quarts Spiced Apple Cider

2 quarts Cranberry Juice

3 Whole Cloves

2 Cinnamon Sticks

1 cup Cranberries (Fresh or Frozen)

2 Orange Slices

Note: This recipe makes 20 cups, but you can easily halve this recipe if you are not serving a large crowd.

  1. Combine all ingredients in a Dutch oven or large pot and bring mixture to a boil for about 5 minutes.
  2. Reduce heat and let the cider simmer (covered) for 30-45 minutes, stirring regularly.
  3. Remove the cloves and cinnamon sticks before serving.
  4. Serve it straight from the stove top or transfer the spiced cider to a slow cooker to keep it warm throughout the party.

Pro tip: cut orange slices to add as a decorative piece to a drink as well as cinnamon sticks and garnish.

No need to be the chef of the family with this recipe! Just mix all the ingredients together and watch the clock. You can put this on the stove top while you finish getting ready for your get-together. This is a wonderful opportunity to have the whole family help and pass down the recipe for years to come. We hope you and your guests enjoy this holiday drink as much as we do.
