10 Days of Lease Friendly Tips: Winter Craft

Are you in need of a fun activity to keep the kids busy while they’re home for holiday break? We have a fun craft that is perfect for this winter season. Turn boring old clothespins into snowmen or reindeer with your loved ones!

Clothespin Snowmen Craft

What You Need

  • Clothespins
  • White Paint
  • Paint Brush
  • Black Marker
  • Black Construction Paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Orange Mini Pom Poms
  • Yarn
  1. Start by painting the clothespins with white paint as a base and layer as you see necessary. Be careful that the clothespin doesn’t dry stuck by opening it up a few times while it dries.
  2. Once the paint dries completely, it’s time for a scarf. Take a short piece of yarn and wrap it around the clothespin and add a drop of glue to secure it in place.
  3. Now take a black marker and draw two black eyes, a mouth, and black buttons on the snowman’s body.
  4. Cut a mini hat out of the black construction paper and glue it on the inside of the clothespin.
  5. Add a drop of glue between the eyes and mouth and stick on an orange mini pom pom. Wait for the glue to dry and your clothespin snowman craft is done with a carrot-like nose and all.

Clothespin Reindeer Craft

What You Need

  • Clothespins
  • Brown Paint
  • Paint Brush
  • Black Marker
  • Brown Construction Paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Red Pom Poms
  • Yarn
  1. Paint the entire clothespin brown. Be careful as the paint dries, you don’t want it acting like a glue that seals shut your clothespin.
  2. With a black marker draw a line for the legs and color in the hooves. As well as the eyes.
  3. Stick on a red pom pom for the nose.
  4. Cut antlers out of brown construction paper. Glue the antlers on the inside of the clothespin.
  5. Tie a bit of yarn around the clothespin and add a drop of glue to make a scarf.

Pro tip: You can use your decorated clothespins on gift bags, label holders for appetizers, or to add festivity in the office!

We hope this is an entertaining activity your whole family can enjoy together while home for the holidays. We would love to see your wonderful creations! Please tag us on social media so we can see your family’s creativity (and mini family of clothespins).
