Phoenix is one of the most beautiful cities of the American Southwest, and has a plethora of events you won’t want to miss. If you’re planning a stay in Phoenix, we’ve highlighted a few events you’ll want to see. There’s something for everyone, so take a look at what the beautiful area has to offer.

28th Annual Arizona Renaissance Festival
From March 1– 27, be sure to stop by the Arizona Renaissance Festival for a medieval experience unlike anything else in the region. Featuring a medieval amusement park, an arts and crafts fair, a 30-acre circus, and a medieval theatre spanning 13 stages, there’s something for the whole family to enjoy.

The artisan marketplace features craftsmen and artisans with a wide variety of medieval trinkets and gifts, and several food vendors carry an assortment of medieval-themed fare for you to enjoy while you explore the festival. Watch the exciting jousting tournament and mêlée champions battling in the arena, or take in a live musical performance. There’s entertainment to be found in every corner of the Arizona Renaissance Festival, so be sure to check it out during your visit.

McDowell Mountain Music Festival
Music fans should definitely make their way to the McDowell Mountain Music Festival. Running from March 11–13, the McDowell Mountain Music Festival will feature some the hottest names in modern music, including Beck, Kid Cudi, Animal Collective, Bloc Party, and many others.

This three-day festival also features some local talent, so visitors to the Phoenix area can get to know some local artists in addition to the heavy-hitting headliners. After the main stage acts finish, stick around for after-hours entertainment each evening. Music fans visiting Phoenix this spring shouldn’t miss this amazing lineup of contemporary talent.

Phoenix Art Museum Presents Cameos: Sculpture in Miniature
Art lovers visiting Phoenix this spring will be delighted to hear that the Phoenix Art Museum has a unique exhibit running until April 17. Cameos are intricate, small-scale carvings, usually done on gemstones, coral, seashells, and crystals. These amazing works of art measure less than 3 inches a size, and the exhibit is showcasing more than 170 carvings from the 18th and 19th centuries.

One of the most fascinating aspects of these cameo carvings is that the artists commonly used a brilliant technique to add color and texture. Rather than painting them or adding other elements, they carved through the different layers of their medium to produce amazingly rich details on very small pieces. Any art lovers visiting the area in time for this wonderful exhibit should not miss this incredible show.

Uptown Farmers’ Market
Cooking Light named the Uptown Farmers’ Market one of America’s 50 best markets of 2015, so it’s an absolute must-see for any foodies visiting Phoenix this spring, or anyone else interested in one of the best farmers’ markets in the country. Running from November through June 25 in northern Phoenix, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

With a mission to inspire local cooking talent and encourage local produce and handcrafted artisan goods and foods, the Uptown Farmers’ Market is a gathering place where you can find your groceries for an extended stay or the right local flavors for a wonderful weekend meal.

Birds ’n Beer at Rio Salado Audubon Center
Do you love beer? Interested in birds? Every third Thursday of each month, the Audubon Center hosts an entertaining gathering sponsored by Four Peaks brewery. Featuring an array of wildlife displays and delicious craft beer, this is a unique event you’ll only find in Phoenix.

Featuring lively and entertaining presentations, the Birds ’n Beer gatherings feature wonderful talks about conservation, wildlife, and the world of birds, with a happy-hour style atmosphere. You won’t find an event like this anywhere else, so if you’re in the mood for some great beer and a unique experience, don’t miss your chance to check out Birds ’n Beer at the Audubon Center.

No matter what you’re looking for, Phoenix has a wealth of fantastic events for you to enjoy. These are just a few of the amazing events in the area happening this spring.
