Get This Look: Playroom
Invitation Homes and SwatchPop! partnered to design a space for our Living Room Makeover winners, Michael and Chelsea. Their Southern California home was transformed into a coastal living space that’s more than Pinterest-worthy. Invitation Homes Design Expert Meghan Giddens and Jessica McRae, Co-founder of Swatch Pop!, designed this creative space. In today’s post, we will explore the playroom and gallery wall while sharing tips and tricks you can apply to your own home.
A playroom is essential for kids to feel like they have their own space, but that doesn’t mean it has to be messy and disorganized. This room was designed to have maximum versatility. The playroom is in the corner so children can be in the same room as the adults.
The anchor decals from Urban Walls serve as an eye-catching element. Decals are a lease-friendly option that allow you to express your family’s personal style, and they can easily be removed when moving or any time you feel like redecorating. These anchors transform the room from ordinary to fun.
These desks are versatile with slide-out drawers and a clever compartment for feeding wires and cables through the furniture. The clear bins are great for quickly finding what you need. No more searching for that specific colored marker! This is a perfect corner for your kids to work on their homework together.
Plants are great in any room, and this one adds an earthy element to the space. You don’t have to water the artificial plant, and it still adds some greenery to the room. These wicker chairs are casual and creative options for seating. These curtains and curtain rod are basic staples that will work in any room. This is the ideal room to showcase your children’s artwork and school photos. You can also start a new tradition and display your children’s favorite school assignments.
A gallery wall is a trendy way to display your favorite family photos, destinations, or whatever you choose for all to see. A cost-efficient way to achieve this look is to purchase downloads that you can print yourself. The rule is there are no rules! In this space, a wide variety of prints were used to create a collection of nautical-themed photographs for this family.
This gallery wall includes the following prints:
This cube storage organizer is a stylish way to stash away all sorts of knick-knacks in these bins. This is a great place to store cables, phone chargers, and other items you want to access easily but don’t want to display.
Make the most of your space! Design your playroom to mirror your family’s favorite things and set up a gallery wall of your favorite places. We hope this has inspired you to create a space where the whole family can spend time together and showcase your family’s story to guests.
