As Invitation Homes has grown, we’ve focused on continually improving the product and service we provide residents. We understand that there are many choices in today’s housing market, and an increasing number of choices within the single-family rental market, so there’s every incentive to ensure that we’re providing a quality product and superior service at a fair market price. And despite misleading narratives in the media, key stats and data clearly show a high level of resident satisfaction in Invitation Homes’ product and service.

Creating a best-in-class experience for residents starts with offering an attractive product in locations where people want to live. Invitation Homes focuses on housing markets that have some of the most consistent growth in population and jobs, typically in the Sun Belt, or the region starting in the Carolinas that stretches across Texas and into California. Within these markets, our homes are located in desirable neighborhoods close to good schools with easy access to employment centers and transportation corridors. The most recent data from new residents show that 75% agree that Invitation Homes has a wide selection of rental homes to choose from.

When it comes to the layout and amenities of our homes, we invest considerably to make sure that they’ll meet resident expectations. Our ideal home has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, an attached parking structure, and is between 1,700 and 2,400 square feet. In 2021, we invested more than $377 million in improving and updating our homes before a resident ever moved in. It’s not surprising that for 20 consecutive months we’ve maintained 98% occupancy.

Once residents have signed a lease with us, our work continues to make sure that they always feel they have a safe and comfortable place to call home. Invitation Homes has taken significant steps over the years to enhance our maintenance program to better meet resident needs, and we’re proud to have achieved a 4.6 maintenance work order satisfaction rating. Our rehab, turns, and maintenance team is integral to responding to resident requests and preserving the quality and condition of our homes over their lifetime. In one year, Invitation Homes will complete more than 500,000 work orders with roughly 75% resolved on the first visit. This superior service and attention to residents has helped us realize our highest renewal rate yet, with 79% of residents deciding to renew their lease with Invitation Homes.

What makes this success possible is Invitation Homes’ strong team of associates, many of whom provide support to residents on a day-to-day basis. These faces are the ones that residents come to know and trust, and that help support the foundation of our operations. Invitation Homes’ commitment to a best-in-class product and service would not be possible without attracting and retaining industry-leading talent. By making this a priority across our business we’ve been able to reach a combined rating of 4.0+ on Google and Yelp. Moreover, our average resident stay has grown to 32 months, and more than half of our residents agree that Invitation Homes offers affordable monthly rent prices for its services and homes. These stats speak directly to the overall quality of our product, people, and service.
