How to Plan a Socially Distanced Fall Picnic

Enjoy this season’s cooler weather with a socially distanced fall picnic with family or friends! This is the perfect way to enjoy food, each other’s company, and the wonderful fall weather. Keep reading for tips to making it your best picnic yet.

Whether you decide to host a picnic in your backyard or at a local park, be sure to pack all the necessities for a good time. First, lay down a comfortable blanket. This blanket can match the fall leaves to create a beautiful photo background. Pack a picnic basket with lots of goodies that the whole family will enjoy like sandwiches, salads, and dessert. For food, bring something that is not only easy to make but to pack as well! Avoid any spills or crumbs by packing the food carefully.

If you are so inclined, pack all the necessities for a charcuterie board that will wow everyone. Charcuterie boards are a beautiful assortment of meats, cheeses, crackers, and more. Select a variety of textures as mix and matching different flavors is the best part. Everything from dried fruits, olives, and wine is fair game here.

If you want to extend the time of your picnic, we have a few ideas to spruce things up! Bring plain canvases, paint supplies, and easels to create a fall masterpiece, and then hang it up in your home. Pack a coloring book or an easy activity to do while enjoying the outdoors. Or celebrate the season by bringing tools to carve a pumpkin. Also, you worked hard to make this picnic a fun event, so might as well document it. Dress up in your favorite autumn outfit and do a mini photoshoot. If you’re with friends or family, take turns shooting photos of each other so you can look back on these fun fall memories later!
