Imagine the sun shining, the water glistening, and your pool becoming the epicenter of relaxation. To keep that haven in top-notch condition, let's dive into the essential guide for pool safety and maintenance.
Pool Safety Reminders
We care about your safety. Please keep the following safety tips in mind as you spend more time in and around the pool:
Keep all gates accessing the pool closed and secured at all times.
Never leave anyone who is not a proficient swimmer in or near the water without supervision.
Stay away from drains.
Know how to perform CPR.
Pool maintenance
Your clean pool checklist:
1. Trim those greens: Regularly give your pool area a neat haircut. By keeping those plants in check, you'll reduce the number of leaves and debris in your pool, making your swim sessions feel more like a retreat and less like an obstacle course.
2. Skim the scene: Especially after a storm, grab a skimmer and work over that pool. Clear away debris like leaves and twigs to keep your pool looking fresh. No one wants to do laps in a salad bowl.
3. Keep it midway: Maintain your pool's water level like Goldilocks — not too high, not too low. Keep it just right at the midpoint of the skimmer door to ensure a clean swim free from floaty bits and pieces.
4. Empty that basket: Your pool's basket is the unsung hero trapping the gunk. Empty it daily, just like taking out the trash. Neglecting this can lead to a clogged system, making your pool work harder than a lifeguard on duty.
5. Report like a pro: Spot something wrong with the pool equipment? Don't wait — report it! Quick fixes prevent small issues from becoming big headaches, keeping your poolside experience stress-free.
More maintenance reminders:
Professional maintenance: Use the Invitation Homes Maintenance app to promptly report safety concerns regarding the pool or pool fence, including but not limited to pool equipment malfunctioning or damage to any pool safety devices (e.g., exit alarms, damaged mesh panels, latching devices, gates, fencing or access barriers and drain covers).
Regular checkups: Schedule regular inspections to catch issues early.
Pool door alarm: If your home is equipped with exit door or window alarms, please ensure they are all working properly. If not, replace the batteries. If an alarm(s) is still not working, please submit a service request.
Chemistry class: Keep an eye on pH levels and chemicals. Balanced water is happy water.
Cover up: When not in use, cover your pool to prevent unwanted guests like leaves, dirt, and even sunlight that can mess with your water balance.
Don't miss routine service: Continue to allow your pool vendor access during service days. Missed service could result in pool and equipment malfunctions.
Tidy up: Remove toys and other debris from the pool to help the water flow freely.
Why does this matter?
A clean pool isn't just about looks. It's about creating a safe, enjoyable space. Neglecting these steps can turn your oasis into a murky mess.
Clogged filters, unbalanced chemicals and malfunctioning equipment can lead to costly repairs and downtime. Who wants to swim in a pool that's seen better days?
