As we close out the year, Invitation Homes is reflecting on the milestones and accomplishments that defined 2022. In January, we set goals to make leasing more friendly for residents, deepen our commitment to and involvement with local communities, and further support associate growth and strengthen our workforce. We’re proud to say that we’ve made substantial progress in each of these areas, and we’re excited for the road ahead.

Improving the Resident Experience

While our offerings have evolved over the years, one thing has not – our mission to provide a safe, clean, and functional house where residents can create a home for their loved ones. In 2022, we continued to advance the latest technology in single-family rental homes to make residents’ lives easier and enhance their overall experience. We improved our maintenance app, and roughly 40% of maintenance requests now come through the app. We also launched a separate app dedicated to leasing, which enables prospective residents to create a profile, save searches, and view their favorite houses.

Residents also play an important role in helping us advance new technology. In the new year, we’re planning to launch a pilot in several markets, turning select houses into test homes for a variety of offerings designed to further enhance the resident experience and improve the home’s environmental footprint.

Deepening Our Commitment to Local Communities

Another primary focus for Invitation Homes this year was increasing activity and involvement in local communities. These efforts were driven primarily by the expansion of our signature initiative, Invitation to SkillUp , and associate volunteer efforts. This year we’ve grown the number of partnerships with local schools focused on skilled trades through SkillUp to encompass two additional markets. Invitation Homes also set a stretch goal of utilizing 65% of associate volunteer hours following our record use of 55.6% of company-provided volunteer hours in 2021. These advancements help deepen our commitment to the areas in which we operate while paving the way for better business practices.

Investing in Associates

At the core of our business is one of our most valuable assets – our associates. Invitation Homes continues to focus on and identify new ways that we can encourage individuality and balance in the workplace. In 2022, we launched new leadership programs and an internal careers website to offer additional opportunities for associate growth and advancement. Doing so helps strengthen our workforce, improve associate retention, and provide residents with a better experience. We also launched a dedicated associate spotlight series on our LinkedIn page to highlight individuals’ unique interests and skill sets, both in and out of the workplace.

These values helped us create a better experience for residents, increase involvement with our communities, and continue investing in associates. As we look to the year ahead, we’re excited to expand our current offerings for residents, introduce new programs in communities, and reveal even more opportunities for the company.
