COVID-19 frequently asked questions

What maintenance services are currently available?

As Invitation Homes continues to respond to service requests, we’re taking extra measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus through our new Contactless Service Visits .

We’re in this together, so we’re asking you to help prevent the spread by taking the same precautions we’ve asked our technicians to take when entering your home. Keeping our visits as contactless as possible is our way of taking care of you, and a way for you to take care of others.

What precautions are maintenance technicians taking to prevent the spread of the virus?

Our maintenance technicians will make your service visit as contactless as possible by taking the following safety precautions:

• Staying home if ill.

• Practicing social distancing (staying at least six feet away from you in your home).

• Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) including face masks, gloves, and shoe coverings.

• Touching only the areas of your home that need to be repaired.

Please take similar precautions as technicians enter your home. Find out how Contactless Service works. >>

Are Invitation Homes local offices open to visitors?

To comply with the social-distancing recommendations of medical experts, we have closed our offices to visitors temporarily. Associates will be available by phone or email during regular business hours.

Payments can be made on the resident payment portal  and office drop boxes will continue to be accessible. Learn more about online payment options here .

What is the status of evictions?

At Invitation Homes, we’re in the business of housing families, so eviction is never a course we want to pursue.

What if I am a Housing Choice Voucher Program Participant (Section 8)?

If your household has experienced a loss of income, such as a furlough or layoff due to COVID-19, you should request interim recertification through the normal process, by contacting your Public Housing Authority to give notice of your income decrease.

Some Public Housing Authorities also have COVID-19 hardship assistance programs. Click here  for a directory of Public Housing Authorities.

How can I protect myself and my loved ones and prevent the spread of COVID-19?

We are all working together to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Please see How to Protect Yourself and Others   from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Keep checking this Invitation Homes page for updates on our response to COVID-19.
