Download the RentCafe Mobile App and sign in.
Click the menu icon in the top left corner of the screen and select the “Scan Check” option.
Review the instructions and tap the camera icon.
A pop-up will request access to your device's camera. You must grant access to proceed. (Skip this step if you've used CHECKscan before).
Place your check front side up on a flat, dark surface.
Align the edges of the front side of the check with the edges of your camera's viewfinder, which will be titled "Front of Check."
Click the circle icon on your device to take a photo.
Check the preview of the photo to make sure the check's information is clearly visible.
If the photo needs to be retaken, click the "Retake" button and repeat steps 8-10.
If the photo looks clear, click the "Accept" button.
Flip the check over and repeat steps 8-10. Your camera's viewfinder will be titled "Back of Check."
If the photo looks clear, click the "Accept" button.
Click the text to the right of the "Document Type" box and select the appropriate option from the pop-up list.
If the "Amount" space is not automatically filled in, type in your check's dollar amount.
If the "Check Number" space is not automatically filled in, type in your check's number.
If the "Transit" (Routing Number) space is not automatically filled in type in your bank's routing number as printed on your check.
If the "Account" space is not automatically filled in, type in the account as reflected by your check.
Click the "SUBMIT" button.
If the submission is successful, a pop-up will appear with the text, “Check submitted successfully.”
If the submission is not successful because the check amount is too low, a pop-up appears with the text, “Currently not accepting partial payments.”
If the submission is not successful because the check is too large, a pop-up will appear with the text, “Currently not accepting prepayments.”
If the submission is not successful because the "Transit" field is incorrect, a pop-up appears with the text, “Invalid Transit detected. Please correct Transit or scan the Check again.”
Click the "OK" button, which navigates back to the RentCafe Mobile App home screen.
